One country is a sum. Two is a system. Every line needs a currency, a rate, and other considerations to make sure the totals are comparable.

Your ISA, your house, and a pension you cannot touch for twenty years do not belong in the same category. You need to decide what you can access when, and how long your liquid assets would last if needed.
A view of your history

System Requirements
Excel 2021, Excel 2024 or Microsoft 365, on Windows or Mac. The workbook uses XLOOKUP, so it will not run correctly on Excel 2019 or older. There are no macros or add-ins.
What it does not do
It does not fetch prices or exchange rates. You set each rate once on the Settings sheet and enter or paste values, and everything downstream recalculates from there.

Questions worth asking
Which version of Excel does it need?
Excel 2021, Excel 2024 or Microsoft 365, on Windows or Mac. It is built and tested in Excel and uses XLOOKUP, which Excel 2019 and older do not have.
Does it update exchange rates and share prices on its own?
No, and that is deliberate in a file with no connection in it. You set each rate once on the Settings sheet and the whole workbook restates from there. Prices are optional: enter units and a price and it values the holding for you, or type what the account is worth and it uses that instead.
How many countries and currencies can it hold?
Three countries, each with its own full page, named by you on the Settings sheet. Currencies are separate from countries, so one country can hold accounts in several, and there are ten currency slots with five already filled in.
How do I get my holdings in?
Five fields are required for each holding: name, country, type, currency, and either what you paid or what it is worth now. For most people that is a single sitting with their statements open, and after that it is a few minutes a month.
How much work is the first sitting?
The file arrives with a worked demo portfolio so you can see the shape of it. You clear it and enter your own numbers. Nothing else needs setting up before it works.
Does it contain macros?
No. It is a plain .xlsx workbook with no macros, no add-ins and no external links.
What happens if I type in the wrong place?
Every sheet is protected, so the calculated columns cannot be overwritten by accident. The Settings sheet also runs seven checks and counts any row that would quietly miss your totals: an unrecognised country, an unknown asset type, a currency with no rate, a missing name, a row with no value at all. They should all read zero, and the Summary says so if they do not.
