I arrived in the UK with a good salary and no idea what to do with it…
The Story
It started with a conversation. Three Nigerian colleagues, all relatively new to London, all earning well, all asking the same question: where does the money actually go?
We weren’t broke. We weren’t struggling. But we weren’t building anything either. We had salaries, we had ambition, and we had absolutely no idea how the UK financial system worked — the ISAs, the pensions, the tax codes, the investment platforms. Nobody had given us the manual.
So I decided to write one.
The Problem
There’s a name for what we were experiencing. HENRY — High Earner, Not Rich Yet. It’s more common than anyone admits, especially among African professionals in the UK.
You earn well. You live well. You support family back home. But your money isn’t compounding. Your assets aren’t growing. And every year that passes is a year of lost time in the market.
I’ve lived that gap personally. I’ve also spent years closing it — learning the UK system from scratch, building frameworks that actually work across multiple countries and currencies, and helping others do the same.
